  1. I know we are working with iLife 08, but I thought you might like to look at what 09 is offering. I just bought it and will be giving it a test flight. I think we should try to be current with our applications; as Jim Heid says in "The MacIntosh iLife '08 in the Classroom":

    In the end, teachers really don't need to completely master every option, pull-down menu, and button of the iLife tools, because the kids will do that for you. Of course, the teacher must understand the interface and basic essentials of each application, but it's OK for teachers to learn along with students. In fact, if the students are the experts, then it should be fine to allow them to teach their peers (and the teacher) what they've discovered in a new application, and that's a real-life skill. Don't be afraid to say to a student, 'I'm not sure, but I know that you can figure it out and get back to me.' "
